Chamber community partner The Calgary Foundation has released their 2008 Vital Signs report - available now on Calgary Vital Signs' website.

Calgary's Vital Signs was launched by The Calgary Foundation (TCF) in 2007 to spark discussion, encourage connections and inspire action. The report provides a snapshot of Calgary that tells it like it is and highlights areas of concern and celebration. Calgary's Vital Signs takes the pulse of our community and gives citizens a voice and a clarity of vision to take action.

This annual check-up looks at important indicators of our city's quality of life, using information from current statistics and special studies. The first step in the development of Calgary's Vital Signs report card is a broadly-based, rigorous research phase resulting in the identification and selection of 12 key indicators. These indicators are then "graded" and the final report card will be produced.
Vital Signs is an annual community check-up, conducted by community foundations across Canada, that measures the vitality of our communities, identifies significant trends, and assigns grades in at least ten areas critical to quality of life. Community foundations in Victoria, metro Vancouver, Calgary, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Ottawa, Toronto, Oakville, Guelph & Wellington, Waterloo Region, London and Middlesex, Greater Sudbury, Greater Montreal, Fredericton, and Greater Saint John are issuing Vital Signs reports in 2008.
