Calgary Chamber calls on businesses to participate in Reboot Plus Program

Calgary, Alberta, April 5, 2023 – The Calgary Chamber is excited to announce a partnership with Bow Valley College on Reboot Plus, a free career development program that provides workshops, training and support to youth aged 17 to 24 who are charting their career path. The Chamber encourages business professionals from across the city to meet and inspire the future workforce by participating in one 30-minute informational interview with a student to share their experience and shape a participant’s career path. These meetings are key to providing youth with ideas, inspiration and information about possible career options.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this partnership – programs like this prepare the youth of today for the workforce of tomorrow,” says Deborah Yedlin, President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. “As businesses across the city continue to face labour shortages and are in desperate need of talent, this program works to fill the gap and prepares the next generation of workers. We call on the business community to participate and strongly encourage more partnerships between the business and post-secondary institutions.”

“Reboot Plus has helped narrow down what I like to do and what I'm good at,” says Jasmine Norman, current Reboot Plus participant. “The opportunity to connect with Calgary employers through workshops will lead to great ideas, valuable experience, and resources. It’s also a great way for them to meet future talent.”

The Chamber encourages professionals from a broad range of occupations and sectors to get involved and share their stories. To get involved with Reboot Plus as a professional, email: rebootplus@bowvalleycollege.ca.
