Through their professional accomplishments, volunteer leadership and dedication to advancing Calgary’s business ecosystem, each has made a meaningful impact on our Chamber and the city we serve.
These awards celebrate individuals who generously contribute their time, knowledge and passion to supporting a stronger business community. Their leadership helps drive important conversations, foster collaboration and create opportunities that benefit businesses across Calgary.
Calgary Chamber of Commerce Sherrold Moore Award: Rick Andison
The Sherrold Moore Award recognizes a long-standing member whose character and contributions reflect the values of community, volunteerism and humble dedication exemplified by Sherrold Moore.
Rick Andison is Director of Business Development for the Buildings Group at Bird Construction and a respected leader within Calgary’s construction industry. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rick is known for his unwavering commitment to the community and the Calgary Chamber.
A familiar face at Chamber events and initiatives, Rick has been a dedicated supporter of the organization for many years. His willingness to contribute, share his perspective and build meaningful connections has made a lasting impact on both the Chamber and Calgary’s business community. His leadership, generosity and community-minded approach embody the spirit of the Sherrold Moore Award.
Calgary Chamber of Commerce Ian S. Anderson Award: Gabriela Gonzalez
The Ian S. Anderson Award honours a standout leader who plays a key role in shaping the Chamber’s voice through active engagement in policy, championing advocacy efforts on behalf of the business community and advancing the issues that matter most to our members.
Gabriela Gonzalez is Director of Government Relations at the University of Calgary, where she leads the institution’s engagement with government. Throughout her career, she has built extensive expertise navigating complex public policy issues across government, industry and higher education.
As a valued member of the Calgary Chamber’s Government Relations Committee, Gabriela brings thoughtful insight, strategic perspective and a unique ability to anticipate emerging issues. Her contributions help shape the committee’s work and strengthen the Chamber’s advocacy efforts on behalf of Calgary’s business community, reflecting the values behind the Ian S. Anderson Award.
Calgary Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year Award: Amber Griffith
The Calgary Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has generously contributed their time and expertise to support the Chamber’s mission, made a meaningful impact in the community and inspired others through their dedication and leadership.
Amber Griffith is a Senior Government Affairs and Public Policy Advisor at ConocoPhillips Canada and an inaugural member and current Co-Chair of the Calgary Chamber’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) Sub-Committee of the Board.
Since the committee’s inception, Amber has played an instrumental role in helping shape its direction and impact. Through her leadership, guidance and commitment to fostering more inclusive workplaces and communities, she has helped establish a strong foundation for the committee’s work and continued growth. Her dedication to advancing meaningful change makes her a deserving recipient of the Calgary Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year Award.
