Quarterly business conditions
Every quarter, we analyze data from Statistics Canada and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Business Data Lab to provide insights into current business conditions and recent economic trends.
2025: Q4
Business optimism has hit a three-year low at 54%, while pessimism has increased to 27%. This indicates an increasingly difficult set of economic conditions for business success.

Business optimism sits at 68%, reflecting instability in commodity prices, weak national GDP growth and a $4.9B goods trade deficit.
2025: Q2
Calgary business optimism has fallen to 69% about the year ahead, down 11% from last quarter.
