2025 Krux Analytics Inc. People’s Choice Award winner: Clear Nordic Spa

In a world that rarely slows down, Clear Nordic Spa has built a space designed to do exactly that.

The Calgary-based silent Nordic spa has quickly become known for its calming atmosphere, intentional guest experience and focus on wellness through hot and cold therapy, meditation and stillness. That connection with the community was recognized in a major way when the business received the Krux Analytics Inc. People’s Choice Award at the 2025 Calgary Small Business Awards.

For founder Bryce Weeks, the award reflected not only the growth of the business, but also the strength of the community that has formed around it in just over two years.

“I think we were all a little bit shocked,” Bryce said. “Our community is really passionate about what we do. Getting that award was a massive reward for me personally and the staff.”

Located in Calgary, Clear Nordic Spa offers a unique wellness experience centered around silence, mindfulness and intentional rest. Guests are encouraged to disconnect from their phones, embrace quiet and focus on being fully present in the moment. Bryce explains that the concept came from his own passion for Nordic spas and the benefits of stillness, combined with a desire to bring something new to Calgary’s wellness scene.

“I really wanted to bring a silent Nordic spa to Calgary and I feel like Calgary is such a under tapped market for Nordic spas in general, and I wanted to bring the benefits of silence and stillness to the community.”

Building a space centered around presence

Bryce’s journey into the wellness industry started long before Clear Nordic Spa opened its doors. His passion for meditation and mindfulness began in his early twenties and eventually led him to create businesses focused on helping people slow down and reconnect with themselves.

“I have a passion for health and wellness,” he said. “I meditated an awful lot in my early 20s and then sadly in my later 20s I was very focused on my career and kind of lost that routine of meditation.”

That experience ultimately motivated him to create spaces where others could experience the benefits of stillness for themselves. Prior to opening Clear Nordic Spa, Bryce founded Clear Float Spa nearly 10 years ago, building on the same philosophy of creating calm and intentional experiences for guests.

“That passion for stillness and meditation and absolute silence has really driven me and there’s been a real demand from the community because everyone’s a little bit overwhelmed at the moment,” he said. “ I love how much people are respecting the silence and seeing the benefits from it.”

That focus on intentionality can be seen throughout the spa experience. Bryce explained that even small details, including handwritten notes to guests and community journals throughout the space, are designed to encourage mindfulness and human connection in an increasingly digital world.

“Stillness is all about presence,” said Bryce. “When you’re writing a note, you’re very present and intentional. And that’s what we’ve really focused on with the space in terms of being very intentional.”

He added that the spa includes “lots of little hidden Easter eggs throughout the spa” along with thoughtful touches that encourage guests to connect with each other and take a break from constant distractions.

“I feel like getting away from your phone, sitting down with a pen and a paper is really, really impactful for mental health,” he said.

A community-driven award and looking ahead

Winning the People’s Choice Award at the 2025 Calgary Small Business Awards was a meaningful milestone for both Bryce and his team, especially because it reflected direct support from the community they’ve worked hard to build.

“The staff works incredibly hard to maintain this environment to elevate the guest experience,” he said. “We really go above and beyond. It was great to see the team see the community respond in that way.”

Looking ahead, Weeks says the business plans to continue growing while staying rooted in its mission of bringing calm and stillness to Calgary.

“We’re going to continue to find ways to create stillness and meditation spaces for the Calgary community,” he said. “In any way that we connect to stillness and creating a sense of calm in the Calgary community, we will continue to grow in that way.”

As applications open for the 2026 Calgary Small Business Awards, Bryce encourages other entrepreneurs to take part in the experience.

“It is an incredible event that we are very grateful that we got to take part of.”

He added that the value of the awards extends far beyond taking home a trophy.

“Even if you don’t win, it’s an amazing experience to connect with the community and other business owners as well.”
