About

Join us on December 9 as the Calgary Chamber hosts Mayor Jeromy Farkas for a keynote address and fireside chat with Calgary Chamber President and CEO Deborah Yedlin.

With the City’s 2027–2030 Municipal Services Plans & Budgets setting the direction for the next four years, Calgary is entering a defining period. As one of North America’s fastest-growing cities, with a population approaching two million, decisions made today will shape our competitiveness, liveability and economic prosperity for decades to come.

Mayor Farkas will share his vision for Calgary’s future and the priorities guiding the City’s next chapter. From infrastructure investment and fiscal sustainability to public safety and regulatory efficiency, this conversation will explore how City Hall plans to support business growth, attract investment and strengthen Calgary’s position as Canada’s most competitive major city.

Keynote Speaker

Jeromy Farkas

Mayor of the City of Calgary

Jeromy Farkas is the 38th Mayor of Calgary. Born and raised in East Calgary, Mayor Farkas is a graduate of the University of Calgary and was first elected to City Council in 2017. During his term as Councillor, he championed public transparency, fiscal responsibility, community safety, and support for Calgary’s Police service as a member of the Police Commission.

Following his time on Council, Mayor Farkas dedicated himself to community service and the non-profit sector. In 2022, he hiked the 4,300-kilometre Pacific Crest Trail, raising more than $225,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters Calgary. He later served as CEO of the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation before stepping down to run for mayor.

Today, Mayor Farkas and City Council are focused on being Calgary’s infrastructure council—building the transportation, housing, water, public safety, and community infrastructure needed to support one of Canada’s fastest-growing major cities.

With Calgary remaining as one of Canada’s fastest growing cities, preparing for the two-millionth Calgarian is a key priority: ensuring that growth is supported by strong infrastructure, a competitive economy, and a high quality of life, making Calgary the best place to live, work or raise a family.
