How to certify your documents with the Calgary Chamber
How to get your documents certified efficiently through the Calgary Chamber’s online eCERT portal or in-person services.
In-Person Certification
- Prepare Your Documents: Bring your completed Certificate of Origin along with all supporting documents that correspond to the information provided on the certificate.
- Check your Letter of Waiver Status:
- Letter of Waiver of file: Your documents do not need to be notarized. To confirm your waiver is still valid, please contact Calgary Chamber Reception. If you are an online exporter using eCERT, you can verify your status through your eCERT account.
- No Letter of Waiver on File: Complete your Certificate of Origin and have all supporting documents notarized prior to certification.
- Visit the Chamber: Bring your documents to the Calgary Chamber for certification and stamping.
Please Note: If you require certification for a business visa application, please contact us in advance to determine whether in-person certification is required.
Online Certification (eCERT)
- Have a Letter of Waiver on file: A Letter of Waiver is required to submit documents online and to establish an eCERT account. If you do not already have one on file, please contact our Reception team to obtain a waiver template.
- Prepare Your Documents: Ensure your Certificate of Origin and all supporting documents are complete and that the information is consistent across all documents.
- Submit Your Documents Online: Upload your Certificate of Origin and supporting documentation through the eCERT platform for Chamber review, certification, and stamping.
- Receive Your Certified Documents: Once processed, your certified documents will be available electronically. No in-person visit is required, and you will not need to have your documents notarized for each submission.
Tip: Maintaining a valid Letter of Waiver on file streamlines the certification process by eliminating the need to notarize documents for every online submission.

Our online eCERT tool allows you to submit Certificates of Origin and trade documents directly from your desk—saving you time, courier fees, and administrative costs while reducing errors with real-time status updates.
How to get started:
- Contact the Calgary Chamber: Call us to begin setup. Our team will send you the required Letter of Waiver template.
- Notarize & Return: Have the Letter of Waiver notarized and return it to us.
- Account Activation: We will configure your eCERT account using your information and completed waiver. Account setup typically takes 24–48 hours.
- Confirmation: Once your account is active, you will receive a confirmation email with login details to begin submitting documents online.
