The Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence (CoRE) is a mission-driven, evidence-based organization created to support recovery for individuals with mental illness and addiction.

“At CoRE we have a unique opportunity and mandate to help people achieve wellness. By evaluating mental health and addiction programs and researching best practices we are able to identify what really works for those on their recovery journey. Those of us working in this space understand these are complex lifelong conditions. There are no quick fixes,” says CoRE CEO, Kym Kaufmann.

Established in June 2024, and funded by the Government of Alberta, CoRE:

· Evaluates Alberta Recovery Model programs and services
· Advances applied research
· Provides insights to foster improved recovery outcomes
· Shares global best practices to enhance recovery-oriented systems of care.

Using data as the foundation for policy, planning, and funding decisions, CoRE is setting a bold example for international systems seeking real-world solutions.
