National Day for Truth & Reconciliation with TELUS Spark
September 27, 2026 | 10AM – 3:00PM | TELUS Spark
Guided by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation’s 6 actions of ReconciliACTION, this programming will explore ancestral land, Residential Schools and Indian Day School, the 94 Calls to Action, and reconciliation journeys. In the spirit of reconciliation, programming will be led by Settlers.

Orange Shirt Day at The Confluence (Hosted by the City of Calgary)
September 30, 2026 | 9AM – 10:30AM | The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland
Join us to commemorate Indian residential school victims, honour survivors and their families, and commit to acting on reconciliation. Remembering the Children.
The program features keynote speakers, remarks from the Mayor, a moment of silence, and cultural performances that highlight Indigenous traditions and youth voices, culminating in a round dance

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at The Confluence
September 30, 2026 | 10AM – 5PM | The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland
As part of our ongoing mission of reconciliation and decolonization, The Confluence will be offering a variety of free programming all day, including free admission to exhibits in the cultural centre, programming in tipis on the land, educational walking tours and more. The site will also host the City of Calgary Orange Shirt Day Program from 9-10:30AM.

Dancing in Their Honour: Truth & Reconciliation Pow Wow
September 30, 2026 | 4PM – 9PM | Heritage Park
Through song, dance, drumming, food, art and community, we come together to honour residential school Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the generations of Indigenous families and communities who continue to be affected by the residential school system.

Pokaiks 10th Annual Children’s Commemorative Walk & Gathering

The Children’s Commemorative Walk and Gathering. This year, CIF Reconciliation Society is excited to partner with Contemporary Calgary, which will host the indoor event. We would like to also remind everyone this event is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend.

Every Child Matters Pow Wow for Truth and Reconciliation

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Werklund Centre

This year, in celebration of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Elders of the Elders Story Project (ESP) are moving from Truth towards Reconciliation, featuring ceremonies that this group has never before shared with an audience. Also featuring a free Indigenous Makers Market and Powwow Showcase, join us on September 30th for a celebration of tradition, artistry, and ceremony.

NMC Presents: Jeremy Dutcher

National Music Centre presents an evening with Jeremy Dutcher. A Two-Spirit song carrier, composer, ethnomusicologist, and Wolastoqiyik member of Tobique First Nation, Dutcher is dedicated to language revitalization.
