Working professionals in Calgary now have greater access to graduate education through a new partnership between Royal Roads University and Mount Royal University.
As part of a new Memorandum of Understanding, select Royal Roads graduate certificate programs can choose a one-week, in-person residency option hosted at Mount Royal University’s Calgary campus, replacing the need to travel to Victoria. The remainder of the program is delivered online, allowing professionals to continue working while advancing their education.
“Increasing accessibility to graduate education is important to Mount Royal and for our community,” said Tim Rahilly, President and Vice-Chancellor of Mount Royal University. “We’re thrilled to partner with Royal Roads University to expand access to high-quality programs for Albertans, in Calgary, and in more flexible ways from their home province.”
Extended Application Deadlines
There’s still time to apply for this fall’s intake, with extended deadlines for two graduate certificate programs:
- Graduate Certificate in Change Management – apply by August 8 for a September 8, 2026 start
- Graduate Certificate in Management & Leadership – apply by August 21, 2026 for a September 21, 2026 start
Designed for today’s workplace, both programs offer flexible online learning with a five-day residency in Calgary, making it easier to build practical leadership and organizational skills without relocating or taking an extended leave from work.
Upon completion, graduates can continue their learning by applying their graduate certificate toward a related master’s degree at Royal Roads University.
