Announcing Calgary Chamber’s 2022 Board of Directors

On behalf of the Calgary Chamber’s Board of Directors, we would like to congratulate and welcome new board members who will join the Calgary Chamber’s Board of Directors for a three-year period, commencing January 1, 2022:

Connor Curran, Co-owner, Local Laundry

With Google as his guide and a $50 start-up investment, Connor founded Local Laundry in 2015, a local online apparel store dedicated to representing Canada and Canadian manufacturing. From designing and manufacturing locally to sharing proceeds with charities, Connor has proudly chosen Calgary as the place to build and grow his business and in the process, differentiated Local Laundry from his competitors.

Darren Engels, Founder and Chief Engagement Officer, Tailwind Associates Ltd.

Darren is enthusiastic about and skilled at helping good people and companies achieve success. With over 18 years of business, financial and investment experience, he is currently a business and financial advisor for several start-up and entrepreneurial companies and previously served as a Director, Institutional Research at GMP FirstEnergy (previously FirstEnergy).

Neeraj Gupta, Chief Strategy Officer, Attabotics

Neeraj has more than two decades of experience in various fields including technology, innovation management and intellectual property consulting, investments and product development. In addition to authoring a book on intellectual property and mentoring more than 100 start-ups, he has advised governments in Asia and Europe on cross-border trade, investments, intellectual property, innovation, technology, and start-up ecosystems.

The Chamber is delighted to welcome these new members and their expertise and leadership experience as we head into a productive and exciting year.

We would like to sincerely thank outgoing board member, Wellington Holbrook, COO, connectFirst Credit Union and outgoing board Past Chair Phil Roberts, CEO, Valo Networks, for bringing passion and vision to the Chamber’s work of supporting Calgary’s business community.
