Each year, the Small Business Awards shine a spotlight on the leading small businesses in Calgary. Together, the Calgary Chamber business community recognizes the changemakers, creators, innovators, and those making a positive impact in our city. On Friday, October 21, at the Chamber’s Small Business Awards during Small Business Week, legal aid pioneer Goodlawyer took home the top prize, the ATB Small Business of the Year Award. In its six years, the company has aided startups with all their legal needs, helping fledgling companies to build their foundation and allowing the national business community to strengthen and diversify.
At October’s Small Business Awards during Small Business Week, hosted by the Calgary Chamber, green shredding company Pulp Shred took home the CPA Alberta Social Entrepreneurship Award. With a focus on being a greener alternative, the company is looking to change the shredding industry for the better while still maintaining privacy and professionalism.
The next Small Business Award winner in our spotlight series is YYC Cycle, a network of cycle studios promoting optimism and community while getting in shape. The team won the Resilient Business Award after coming out the other end of the pandemic ready to tackle new challenges and welcome new members at each of their six studios.
