The Calgary Chamber of Commerce stands ready to provide response and recovery support to Calgary’s business community in the event of an emergency or disaster.
We are here to support you as you navigate the COVID-19 crisis.
The Calgary Chamber of Commerce is an emergency partner to the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA). In this role, we are an active participant in bi-annual crisis planning exercises and actively participate in the Emergency Operations Centre during crisis events that impact Calgary's business community.
Disasters big and small happen without warning and can disrupt your ability to deliver your products and services to your customers. Having a plan in place can make for a more effective response and faster recovery, as your business will be better equipped to maintain operations, reduce financial losses, identify vulnerabilities, protect staff and customers, and demonstrate resiliency to your investors and business partners.
In partnership with CEMA and supported by the Government of Alberta, the Calgary Chamber of Commerce has created the Emergency Business Contact Database (EBCD). The EBCD helps facilitate communication and collaboration between CEMA and the business community (Calgary and Southern Alberta). During an emergency, the EBCD will be utilized to relay business–related emergency, disaster and recovery information. From time to time, we may reach out to ensure your contact information is up to date, or to test the system.
To help businesses prepare and respond to any emergency, the Calgary Chamber has worked in partnership with CEMA to prepare the below business continuity resources. For more information and resources, visit Ready Business.
In partnership with the Insurance Bureau of Canada, we have developed a diagnostic tool to help you find gaps in your business continuity plan, and to help your business better prepare for an emergency.
