Calgary Chamber welcomes new provincial cabinet members

Calgary, June 9, 2023 – The Calgary Chamber of Commerce welcomes and congratulates the 24 ministers selected by Premier Danielle Smith today. We are encouraged by the focus on economically driven portfolios and look forward to advancing policies and programs critical to Calgary’s business community.

The Chamber looks forward to working closely with Premier Smith and her cabinet to promote a competitive business environment and a dynamic and diversified economy.”

As members take on their new roles, we encourage continued collaboration with the business community, recognizing the critical role they play in the province’s economic future.

Earlier this year, the Calgary Chamber launched our election platform ACCELERATE: Driving Alberta Forward, which called on the provincial government to:

• Ensure fiscal responsibility now and into Alberta’s future;
• Alleviate the pressures of rising costs and implement affordability measures for businesses and families;
• Focus on economic diversification and competitiveness.
• Develop talent, skills, and jobs; and
• Support strategic infrastructure investments.

The Calgary Chamber looks forward to working with the Premier, new ministers and the entire provincial government to develop and implement policies that support the continued growth and prosperity of the business community.
