The following statement is attributable to Deborah Yedlin, President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce:

Calgary, July 8, 2021 – “The Calgary Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate the Hon. Jason Luan, Hon. Ron Orr, and Hon. Rajan Sawhney as they take on their new ministerial roles. We also congratulate Mike Ellis, Tanya Fir, Nathan Horner, Whitney Issik, and Muhammed Yaseen on their appointments as associate ministers and Pam Livingston for her appointment as the Premier’s Chief of Staff.

“The Chamber thanks Leela Aheer for her service as Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women and Grant Hunter for his work in the role of Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction.

“Our members are approaching this economic recovery with optimism and a commitment to reopening safely and permanently. Calgary businesses have stepped up to protect the health and well-being of employees and customers. Now is the time to take what we’ve learned about change, challenge and collaboration, and apply these lessons to our recovery so we can emerge even stronger than before.

“As we turn the page to focus on economic recovery post-pandemic, continued collaboration with government will be critical to ensure investment and transition supports align with the needs of our business community. We look forward to working with the provincial government and cabinet to foster certainty and stability needed to support a strong and inclusive recovery.”
