Calgary Chamber congratulates provincial cabinet members on new appointments

Alberta legislature

The following statement is attributable to Deborah Yedlin, President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce:

Calgary, September 21, 2021 – “The Calgary Chamber of Commerce congratulates the Hon. Jason Copping on his appointment as Minister of Health and the Hon. Tyler Shandro on his appointment as Minister of Labour and Immigration.

“As he works to address the urgent needs of our healthcare system, we look forward to collaboration and engagement with Minister Copping in his new portfolio and are committed to ensuring the safety and health of Albertans remains a high priority.

“In his new role as Minister of Labour and Immigration, we will work alongside Minister Shandro, on behalf of our business community, to attract and keep top talent in Alberta, while also ensuring the barriers to full labour force participation, including affordable childcare and diverse work opportunities, are appropriately addressed.

“Calgary’s business community continues to bear a significant burden in adhering to restrictions and implementing the latest public health measures. Despite this, businesses remain committed to keeping Albertans safe and doing what is necessary – in collaboration with our provincial government and newly appointed Ministers – to keep our economy open and on the road to recovery.”
