Calgary Chamber swears in new Board Chair

The following statement is attributable Jason Hatcher, Calgary Chamber of Commerce Board Chair:

“It is a great honour and privilege to take on the role of Board Chair of an organization that has been critical to the strength of our economy for well over a century. Calgary’s business community is resilient, innovative and well-positioned for continued growth and I am proud of the work the Chamber is doing to support local businesses. With considerable influence on public policy and an unparalleled ability to convene, the work that the Calgary Chamber does on behalf of its members will continue to be vital in helping support businesses.

“It’s my pleasure to congratulate and welcome our incoming Board members, Spencer Forgo, Jim Gibson, Brian Lanier and Alyson Robb. I’m excited, as incoming Chair, to work with our new and continuing Board members in 2024 to steward the Chamber and support our business community. I want to thank Desirée Bombenon for her significant and transformational leadership as Board Chair over the past two years. I also want to extend my thanks to our outgoing Board members, Ken Keelor, Lara Murphy and Mike Shaw, for their contributions, and to the entire Board for their dedication to the Chamber and commitment to our city.

“As I step into the role of Chair, I’m excited about the Chamber’s renewed strategic direction and work to grow Chamber membership in all quadrants of the city. The Chamber’s voice is stronger than ever and 2024 is shaping up to be another exciting year of growth. I look forward to connecting with members and Calgary’s business community in the year ahead to propel a thriving business community and a prosperous city for all.”
