Forging the future
Alberta is already a global leader in key industries the world counts on including energy, agriculture, transportation, forestry, tourism, healthcare and technology. We must nourish these industries into innovation superclusters that Canada and world can turn to for leadership and expertise.
Actions:
Enable our base industries to adapt and thrive
Alberta has everything we need to forge a brilliant future – acknowledged as one of the best places to live, work and play. We need to work together, create a plan and focus our energies on building the best possible environment for our base industries to adapt and thrive.
Develop our natural resources and solve climate change simultaneously.
We ask our political leaders to set aside ideology and demonstrate collaborative, accountable leadership that puts our country first. We need this to answer the most fundamental question: how do we develop our natural resources AND fight climate change, to the benefit of the Canadians they serve.
Leaders from across the country came together to have a conversation about Canada and our potential to be a leader in natural resource development AND fight global climate change at the same time at our inaugural Energy Summit.
Canada's Agriculture Summit was a unique opportunity for industry leaders, policy makers, and the public to convene and engage in a conversation about how Canada can nourish the world ‘AND’ have sustainable agricultural practices, while remaining competitive on the global stage.
Policy before politics. Collaboration with accountability. Developing our natural resources AND fighting climate change. It’s what the Calgary Chamber has been saying for two years now.
Our recommendations to create long-term sustainable jobs for all Albertans.
